People partner with horses to learn about life and loss.

“We know horses have an amazing ability to reach deep inside a human and touch on parts of their life that need attention.” – EAL CANADA
Grief can feel like carrying a heavy backpack everywhere you go full of rocks you never asked to hold. Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) offers a powerful way to gently set some of that weight down. In the presence of a horse, many people experience a kind of wordless understanding: horses respond to what’s happening inside us—our energy, emotions, and the truths we often keep hidden.
Horses don’t judge, fix, or rush your process. Instead, they invite honesty, connection, and relief, helping you notice what you’re carrying, what you’re ready to release, and what you still need in order to move forward.
Paired with the practical support and guidance from Transforming Grief into Growth, Darlene will walk with you through a grounded process of connecting with a horse, learning to trust yourself again, and taking real steps toward healing so you can live with hope, connection, and purpose.

**Horse Connections focuses on equipping individuals and families with the tools to complete loss and live life in the present. We do not offer formal riding lessons. Connection with horses and ourselves is the priority.

What is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)?
Communication between a horse and human that brings change in the human.
Horses have an amazing ability to reach deep inside a human and touch on parts of our lives that need attention. Just connecting with the horse can help us realize where changes need to be made, where healing needs to take place, where life resolutions need to happen.
Equine Assisted Learning is the process that helps make this happen and sets someone on a new path (EAL Canada).
Equine Assisted Personal Development (EAPD) Coach
is the facilitator of your session, to guide your experience and walk with you through life - its challenges and its victories.
Working with the horse as your partner, the EAPD Coach asks questions and walks you through exercises that help you discover what decisions need to be made, behaviors that need to change, or grief that needs to be processed. The Coach guides you as you establish new goals and ways to overcome obstacles in your life. The horse, yourself, and your Coach become a team working towards life transformations.
"EAPD Coaches work with individuals and families. We think of our clients as learners, learning about themselves through the eyes of the horse (EAL Canada)."
