This one-day workshop is based on the principles of the Grief Recovery Method developed by  John W. James and Russell Friedman from the Grief Recovery Institute.

Participants will learn:

  •  Grief is the normal and natural emotional response to change or loss of any kind – death, divorce, moving, financial changes, health changes, relationship changes, and on and on… Grief is also the result of unmet hopes, dreams, and expectations and the loss of intangible concepts such as safety, trust, security, respect, faith… and hope. Grief is universal. All of us have experienced grief throughout our lives, as a result of many changes and losses. But we are not well prepared to really handle, manage or recover  from the emotional impact which results from these changes and losses.” (Grief Recovery  Method Handbook, 2009)
  •  To Identify and name the more than 40 types of losses people experience in their lifetime.
  •  To identify what tools society uses to cope with grief and which of those tools are healthy and helpful.
  •  New tools that help participants complete their relationship to the pain, isolation, and loneliness caused by significant emotional loss.
